There is practical guidance on how to proceed in specific cases when nature or natural resources are endangered in this section. For ease of the reference, the basic model situations are divided according to the areas of activities of the CEI.
What to do if I notice ...
- dark smoke coming from the chimney or other parts of the source, from burning various flammable materials in the fireplaces on the concourse;
- bothering odor arising due to operation of a particular resource, or odor of indeterminate origin;
- other sources or activities of air pollution (only stationary sources, not mobile sources);
- contaminated waste water running from the storm water overflow in the dry period;
- pollution of surface waters from anchored or floating vessels on the surface waters;
- accumulation of waste on an unspecified location for it, ie. creation of an unauthorized landfill, so-called "illegal dumps",
- odor spreading from landfills, sewage treatment plants, sorting lines, composting, collecting yard or other facilities and businesses;
- abandoned car wreck, electrical equipment;
- mortality of fishes, birds, crabs, etc. in the river or pond;
- excessive threatening of wildlife or plants, such as due to terrain modification;
- unauthorized construction activities in the open air;
- destruction of caves;
- destruction of memorable tree;
- felling of forest stands with suspicion of its illegality;
- failure to remove the effects of wind, snow and other calamities in the woods;
- excessive damaging of forest roads, slope roads and ground;
- unauthorized occupation of forest land (landfill waste, unauthorized structures, etc.);
- damaging of trees in the forest by biotic factors (bark beetle, damage or devastation of young forest because of grazing by animals, etc.).
