Dustiness, or airborne dust, is measured by the The National Institute of Public Health (www.szu.cz). On its website you will also find links to individual health institutions located in the regional cities. Furthermore, the determination is carried out by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (www.chmi.cz). These bodies have the status of contributory organizations managed in the case of health institutes by the Ministry of Health and in the case of hydrometeorological institutes by the Ministry of the Environment. They perform measurements for a fee according to their price lists.
The locally competent authority (municipal authority), according to the Air Protection Act No. 86/2002 Coll. as amended, has no obligation to ensure such measurement. It is always necessary to agree with the office whether the measurement will be provided at the citizen's request.
