The CEI performs the following main activities in the field of international cooperation:
- cooperates with inspection bodies of EU countries and an informal network of European supervisory bodies and EU institutions focused on the implementation and enforcement of environmental law (IMPEL)
- cooperates with a network of international networks of organizations and institutions seeking to harmonize the enforcement of domestic and international environmental law (INECE)
- cooperates bilaterally within the framework of concluded agreements with Slovakia and Poland
- ensures cross-border cooperation, especially through border territorial inspectorates
- inspectors represent the Czech Republic and the Ministry of the Environment at meetings of international commissions for the protection of the border waters of the Elbe, Oder and Danube and participate in solving problems on border waters
- participates in the work of the "Wildlife Crime" group (a group dealing with the detection of illegal activities related to endangered species of wild animals and wild plants) within the international police organization Interpol
